The NABTEB registration fee for the 2026 May/June exam is ₦24,500, as announced for the cycle. It covers the application form, digital biometrics, examination materials, practicals and result checking. Registration for in-school candidates closed on 31 May 2026; external candidates register separately for the Nov/Dec exam.
The two exam windows
| Exam | Who it’s for | Portal |
|---|---|---|
| May/June | In-school candidates (technical colleges) | mayjune.nabteb.gov.ng |
| Nov/Dec | External and private candidates | novdec.nabteb.gov.ng |
Both windows lead to the same NBC or NTC certificate. If you missed May/June, the Nov/Dec exam is the standard route — you do not lose a year of eligibility.
How to register, step by step
- Buy a registration PIN. PINs are sold at NABTEB state, zonal and liaison offices nationwide. Your school may handle this for in-school candidates.
- Complete biometric capture. NABTEB uses an offline biometric software first; capture is done at your school or an accredited centre before the online form.
- Fill the online form. Log in to the portal for your window (mayjune or novdec .nabteb.gov.ng) with your PIN and serial number. Select your trade and confirm the subject combination — check your trade’s subjects and codes on this site first so nothing surprises you.
- Pay through Remita. All NABTEB payments go through Remita, payable to the National Business and Technical Examinations Board, Benin City. No agent should collect cash “on behalf of” NABTEB.
- Print your exam slip. Keep a printed copy; you will need it on exam days.
Watch out for unofficial fees
The published fee is the whole fee. Cybercafés legitimately charge a small service fee for helping you register, but anyone quoting double the official amount, promising “upgraded results”, or asking for payment outside Remita is running a scam. When in doubt, call the nearest NABTEB state office.
Common questions
Can I register for NABTEB without attending a technical college? Yes — that is exactly what the Nov/Dec (external) window is for. Any candidate can register at novdec.nabteb.gov.ng.
What happens after registration? The Nov/Dec 2026 timetable is already out — exams run 2 November to 5 December 2026. Results are checked with the result-checking access included in your registration fee.
Which subjects will I sit? It depends on your trade. Find your trade on the full subject list — each page shows the general education, trade-related, trade group and elective subjects with their codes.
Fees and dates are per the 2026 May/June announcements — always confirm the current cycle’s figures on the official portal before paying.
